Rental Property

The Estate is an accredited landlord under the Landlord Accreditation Scotland scheme. This is a voluntary scheme set up to demonstrate that landlords operate to a higher management standard that the minimum legal requirements. It also provides tenants with reassurance that their Landlord or Agents adheres to the “Scottish Core Standards for Accredited Landlords”. The full list of Standards can be found here.

There is an on going programme of works to improve energy efficiency on the estate with many of the properties having double glazing, external or internal wall insulation and loft insulation. Some properties have draught proofing and “A” rated boilers.

Dormont Estate is committed to finding ways to improve energy efficiency.  Heat through renewable sources of energy are installed in two of its properties using Ground Source Heat pumps.

12 of the properties are traditional farm and estate houses. These properties are let on Short Assured Tenancies currently for a minimum of 3 years. All of these have benefited from extensive refurbishment and all have central heating.

8 of the properties are new-build semi-detached houses built and certified to the ultra-low energy Passivhaus Standard. These properties are offered on long term tenancies at affordable rent. More information can be found on the Dormont Park pages.
